The
Snappa Heads Triathlon Club Townsville has been formed to help people
who would like to start in the world of Triathlon at the novice
level and to continue to a higher level. Our training programs are
set in a relaxed atmosphere where the only pressure to perform is
up to the individual. The clubs attitude is, if you are willing
to train to improve your fitness and you want to complete a triathlon
no matter what the distances, then you are welcome at the Snappa
Heads. The only requirement is that members must be able to swim
50 metres. During the season the club participates in most races
throughout the region as well as traveling interstate to other venues.

Our
values have been inherited from our sister club based in Canberra.
The
goals of the Snappa Heads are -
*
To provide training and other activities that is aimed at meeting
the goals of club members.
*
To provide an opportunity for juniors to become exposed to the sport
of Triathlon through our junior squad the "Whippa Snappas.
*To
provide members with relaxed social occasions to complement training
sessions, foster the sport of triathlon and duathlon in the North
Queensland region, represent club members in relation with other
relevant individuals and organisations as determined by the Club.
*To
provide opportunities for club members to train with others.
The
Club is made up of a President, Secretary, Treasurer, and two committee
members. We encourage all members to take part in the running of
the club. Our club boasts at least 3 level one coaches.
To
sum it all up - the Snappas are a fun club, who love to train to
improve overall fitness in swimming, cycling and running to improve
our personal times.
We
hold club events the last Sunday of each month and our committee meetings
are held on the last Saturday of each month. If anyone wants agenda items
raised or indeed to attend the meeting themselves please contact the club secretary.
